Webinar: Is your building safe?

New announcements and initiatives from the Government, presented by Ringley.

Chair: Mary-Anne Bowring, Expert and Commentator

Presenter: Jon Curtis, Head of Building Engineering, Ringley

Is your building safe?

Introducing Ringley’s 4th webinar on all things fire safety. Thank you to Ringley sponsors Towergate Insurance Brokers. We’ve invited you to re-visit where the government is headed and what this means for developers and property owners.

Five years on from the Grenfell tragedy there are still 2,000 buildings covered with dangerous cladding material, according to the Housing, Communities and Local Government (HCLG) [Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC)].

It’s difficult to get a mortgage on a building higher than 18 metres (6 floors) without an EWS1 form to certify that the cladding is safe. Compartmentalisation and fire door requirements are frustrating sales too.

Ringley trains government departments on EWS1 and cladding and advises the Government’s £5 billion Housing and Communities fund. Join us to understand where the Government is moving and how it will impact your business.

Discussion agenda

  • What is new?
  • Michael Gove’s Government Intervention
  • Fire Safety Act 2021
  • Building Safety Act 2022
  • The Golden Thread
  • Q&A
