Get to know ARL Corporate Sponsor… motive8

In one sentence, tell us who motive8 are?

We are the leading provider of full-service health, fitness and leisure solutions in BTR.

What products and services does motive8 offer?

We work with our clients to design, supply, install, manage and maintain any kind of leisure or fitness amenity within a development. We are an independent business, not tied to any particular brand so can offer a huge range of solutions and always consider the best option for our clients. Our service offering is constantly evolving, not only ensuring the compliance of a leisure facility but working on resident engagement strategies, events, facility management and maintenance services to ensure the amenity is kept in the best possible shape for the residents.

How can motive8 add value to the ARL community?

We support our clients by providing the best outcome for THEIR needs. Every BTR scheme is different and whilst comparisons can be made its important to us that we take a unique approach to each of the facilities we design, install and manage.

Our leadership team has vast amounts of experience and are members of various governing and membership bodies in both the property industry and the leisure industry ensuring that we can blend the two seamlessly for our clients.

Why have you chosen to become an ARL Corporate Sponsor?

We have been a member for many years and have seen firsthand the amazing work the ARL has done in promoting BTR. Becoming a Corporate Sponsor was a natural progression to raise our profile in a high growth market. It is also great to be able to support the ARL by sitting on various committees and panels to not only get the motive8 voice out there but to also to champion the amenities and provide advice and support to the ARL in the way of the Code of Practice and other initiatives.

How can motive8 contribute towards the liveability of a build to rent development?

Where do I begin?! Gyms are up there among the most in demand facilities in BTR but only if it’s a good gym! I firmly believe in the mantra of doing something properly or not doing it at all and this is true of gyms and amenity spaces. A gym should take pride of place amongst amenities and be considered right at the very beginning of a design process.

A well-managed gym and wellness facility with the right level of support and guidance will contribute to a stronger community and ultimately keep residents living in developments for longer.

Why do you feel that a health & wellness offering is so important to build to rent developments?

Health and wellness is on all our agendas in one way or another and it will be on all of your residents’ too. Catering for everyone isn’t going to be possible but there are ways to drive a really successful wellness programme and using that programme to enhance the engagement and community among residents.  Leisure facilities can support a holistic, balanced lifestyle.

What value have you added to your partners’ rental offering?

There are the obvious services which are part of our core offering that we offer various clients across BTR and other tenures but it’s the added value services that I like to think make us a little unique. Some of these have included residents joining a staff team cycling in the London – Brighton bike ride, master classes with Olympic athletes, enhancing environmental credentials through our tree planting partnership and a more recent partnership with JOGON recycling residents unwanted trainers
