First ARL-hosted international Study Tour launches in Madrid

  • ARL-led tour of 6 cutting-edge Madrid BTR developments takes place on 5-6 Feb 2025
  • Attendees to receive unparalleled market, design and operational insights

The Association for Rental Living (ARL) will host its first international Study Tour this February, taking attendees to the Spanish capital, Madrid.

The ARL Madrid Study Tour will take place on 5th and 6th February 2025, with a packed agenda that takes in six cutting-edge Build to Rent (BTR) developments in the city. The schemes showcase the latest in design and operational excellence.

Over the course of the two days, Study Tour attendees will take a deep dive into product variations and operational strategies shaping the Spanish Rental Living sector. According to market insights compiled by Global Apartment Advisors, the BTR market in Spain recently reached a new milestone, with over 11,000 homes now available across the sector. That’s a 27% increase compared to 2022, with Madrid leading the market. The city saw growth of 115% in BTR homes between 2022 and 2024. With 5,859 BTR homes now operational, Madrid has become the central hub for institutional BTR investors and developers.

The ARL Madrid Study Tour will take in a number of leading investors’ and operators’ developments, including Be Casa Valdebebas, Be Casa Essential Barajas, Layetana Propia, Kronos Nuveen Torrejón, Casa Dumont and Node Carabanchel.

The two-day event will also provide access to experts on BTR design, delivery and operation, with speakers from Atlas Real Estate Analytics, Global Apartment Advisors, Chapman Taylor, DLA Piper and Gensler all contributing unparalleled insights.

Previous ARL Study Tours have delighted attendees, showcasing leading developments and delivering exceptional insights and networking opportunities. The ARL took attendees on tours of Birmingham, Leeds, London and Milton Keynes in 2024, while 2025 will see it host tours in Brighton, Scotland and Leicester, as well as the first international Study Tour in Madrid.

As the membership body for all institutionally backed, professionally managed purpose-built rental living sectors, we pack extensive value into every event that we deliver. This supports attendees to gain invaluable insights and access the latest expertise from across the sector while developing their professional networks in a way that adds even greater value. Our Madrid Study Tour will encapsulate this while showcasing the value of international knowledge-sharing.
