ARL flies the flag for BTR at UKREiiF 2024
Over 12,000 industry professionals attended the UK’s Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum, UKREiiF, in Leeds including the ARL’s CEO, Brendan Geraghty and Director of Operations & Marketing, Graham Sibley.
Not only did they attend, they flew the flag for Build to Rent and the wider rental living sector by hosting a series of impactful events which successfully elevated the position of rental living and BTR within the real estate industry.
The opening day of UKREiiF started with a bang with the launch of the latest edition of the Who Lives in Build to Rentreport. Published by the British Property Federation (BPF), the Association for Rental Living (ARL), BusinessLDN, and PriceHubble, the report shows the rising popularity of the UK’s Build to Rent (BTR) sector across an increasingly broad range of renters, including the ‘Gen Z’ age group and public sector workers, as well as sharers and couples.
The ARL panel discussion which followed provided unique insights into the diversity of BTR homes and communities, covering aspects such as age, income, tenancy type, profession, and affordability.
Wednesday saw the always-popular ARL Study Tours return with not just one but two tours of BTR developments in Leeds. The Leeds BTR in Action Study Tour in the morning saw participants immerse themselves in two key BTR sites in the city, Mustard Wharf from Legal & General / urbanbubble and New York Square by Moda.
This was then followed in the afternoon with a Study Tour dedicated, for the first time, for local authorities who were invited to discover two BTR sites followed by a roundtable discussion. Hugely insightful for those local authorities who attended, the Study Tour took in Leodis Square by Dandara Living and The Junction by Native Residential with the roundtable focusing conversation on BTR’s role in regeneration.
The ARL events programme at UKREiiF concluded with an invitation-only BTR Breakfast on Thursday morning. The well attended closing breakfast event was hosted by the ARL, Quod and Just Build Homes and featured the launch of areport and takeaways to help deliver more BTR homes.
“UKREiiF was a huge success with the ARL proudly flying the flag for BTR. Our events were well attended and saw real engagement from delegates, both those already active in the rental living sector and those with an interest to know more. Our thanks go to our partners, hosts, sponsors and of course UKREiiF, for supporting the ARL at this industry leading event. We look forward to seeing you in 2025!”
Brendan Geraghty, CEO, ARL
