Association for Rental Living seeks new Board Members for strategic succession

  • ARL evolving alongside the Build to Rent sector
  • New Board Members to fully represent all aspects of the wider Living Sector
  • Role successions include Chair, Vice-Chair and Secretary and Treasurer

The Association for Rental Living (ARL) is inviting applications from Build to Rent (BTR) sector specialists to join its Board.

Established in 2016 as the UK Apartment Association (UKAA), the membership body has created strong networks for sharing best practice, connecting suppliers with investors and operators, and generating awareness of the BTR sector. The organisation has evolved alongside the sector, rebranding to the ARL as of March 2024 and represents all institutionally backed, professionally managed purpose-built rental living sectors including urban and suburban single-family and multi-family rental, co-living and later living.

The ARL is now seeking individuals with the strategic vision and experience to shape the future of the wider BTR and Living Sectors for a range of Board roles, including a Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer, along with legal and governance directors and special advisors. The reconstituting of the ARL Board is due to complete by the end of 2024.

Building the new Board is part of the ARL’s natural evolution to embrace a wider remit to fully represent the range of sectors within the BTR umbrella. The Board of the ARL is responsible for the overall control, governance, and strategic direction of the organisation in representing the sector.

On behalf of the ARL, I extend my thanks to our current Board Members for their outstanding service in guiding and shaping the organisation since its inception eight years ago. The ARL is now perfectly positioned to further shape the living sector moving forward. We are excited to be seeking a range of experts and specialists to join us on that journey, as we implement a clear succession plan for the Board, to build upon the success of the ARL to date and meet the needs of the evolving BTR environment.”

 Brendan Geraghty, CEO, ARL
