Association for Rental Living – One Year On
On 20 March 2024, we marked a year since the UKAA rebranded to the Association for Rental Living – an identity change to reflect who we represent – the institutionally backed rental living sector in all its forms – BTR, SFR, co-living and later living.
In our work representing the interests of all stakeholders across the sector, the last 12 months has been incredibly busy for the Association for Rental Living as we have:
- Advocated to government and local authorities over issues impacting investment in, and operation of, BTR such as Selective Licensing, the abolition of MDR, the impact of the Building Safety Act and the Renters’ Rights Bill,
- Played a leading role in the formation of the BTR Taskforce,
- Driven standards across the sector with the BTR Code of Practice and led the development of a Customer Charter,
- Raised awareness of these issues through national and trade media,
- Organised regular webinars and seminars to learn and share best practice on building safety, renters’ rights, and social value,
- Hosted a series of educational Study Tours to BTR developments across the UK and for the first-time, internationally,
- Restructured our governance, with a new Non-Executive Board and Special Advisors, and committees and working groups that represent and take forward all aspects of the rental living sector,
- Embedded a strong, expanded network of regional hubs that provide a platform for engagement and networking at local level across the UK and,
- Held a major conference and the Expo trade show coming on 1 April that raise the bar for content and opportunities to connect across the sector.
We thank our members for their support of the Association for Rental Living and look forward to continuing to work on your behalf for the betterment of the rental living sector.
